Women & Wolves 2020:

Embodied Emotion Series

Fear and Freedom Program

Fear, a familiar feeling in her body, tingling, alert.

She assesses the situation, muscles tensed, eyes wide, ears open and flexed.

The sensation of paw to earth comforts, as each particle of dirt supports and anchors the pads that instinctively seek grounding.

The wolf holds both truths with ease, that of fear, and that of comfort.

She is on guard and soothed at the same time.

Fear is not her foe, but rather her survival.

Our 2020 Women & Wolves: Embodied Emotion series will begin on June 6th from 3pm to 9pm with a spring program honoring the legacy of Maggie, a wolf who invited many a human to see their inner world mirrored in her experience, and who continues to teach us about fear, freedom, and the courage to open our hearts.

We hope you will join us on a day-long journey of honoring our fear, survival, and the wisdom of our embodied emotions by embracing the lessons of the wolf, deep within the high desert of Angeles National Forest.

Wolf Connection’s Women & Wolves program series began in 2017. This year, we expand on 2019’s theme of Embodied Wisdom to focus on the power of our primal emotions as women – the importance of our fire, our feelings, and even our fears. We will explore our own instincts and connection to the Earth, while being witnessed by the wolf pack. What is the truth that each of us already embodies? Can we too hold fear and soothing as one, in the sacred way of the wolf?

This session is open to people over the age of 18 who are serious about exploring their personal journey and growth. You will be encouraged to listen from the heart, speak from the heart, illuminate only the heart of the matter and at times, to be in silence with your heart.

The retreat will include meditation, exploration of self and community, creative expression, hiking and connecting with the wolves, a shared meal and sacred ceremony.
